hey guyz this thread is open for all to place ur views and any kind of news that u want to share with all the members of onirbaan.com

aikhan theke ami janacchi jee... ekhon dhaka ronokhettro er moddhe ase.

Recent History

everybody knew from the beginning that something "unusual" many happen from during the time of Ramadan. and it did. now one must really wonder, how it came till here.

during ramadan, two of the major parties in bd, were helding talks, debating about the upcomming elections. Awami league(AL) wanted demands was K.M.Hasan who was about to be the Chief of the Caretaker govt. should step down. AL main claimed early the K.M.Hasan was linked with BNP during his early career, and still. BNP really have not cared much about this. It said every citizen has the right to support any party, but now, as the Constitution says, he is the right man.

According to Constitution, the former Cheif Justice of the Supreme Court "would" be declared as the Cheif Advisor of the Caretaker govt. where he would be guided by advisors, and the President will remain in his opposition, untouched. But the constitution also says, if the most recent former cheif justice cannot take the power, it can be claimed by his/her preivous cheif justice, M.A.Aziz. (who is currently the Cheif Election Commissioner and AL is not feeling comfortable with him too). They want Aziz's previous chief justice, who also have the constitutional power, to be the Chief Advisor of Caretaker govt.

Now both parties were taking this negotiations held in Ramadan as debate, and were pretty convinced considering their win or lose. Neither of them got their legs into any solutions. All ended just before the Eid, leaving a fear among all the citizens---what would really knock next?
--------------------
On Eid day, when everyone tried to enjoy some peace, for some it may have lasted till the Eid prayers at mourning. At Eid, BNP Secratary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiya has said, "K.M.Hasan" would not be forced to step-down. It was not a sudden blow. At the last day of the negotiations both parties has the shortest amount of meeting, which may have lasted just 20mins. Both General Secractaries walked out silently informing nothing to the press.

Own Experience

Every knew something really bad would happen on Oct. 28. But it happened a day early. Yesterday when I entered my classroom at 7P.M, it was pretty empty compared to other days. Even number of cars parked outside the building was, one. A place where people sometimes find it difficult to cross, as the amount of traffic increases for dramatically often, with two schools/couchings and one medical clinic in a single narrow road of Dhanmondhi 8, it seems "hunted."

Our teacher, an assit.prof of DU, was too busy receiving calls from his students' parents and few friends, I guess. I can recall clearly while talking to someone in phone he said, "...asole, ami tow mone korsilam kalke shokal 12tar agey kichu bole nahh, kinto ekhon mone hocche etto prob thakte parey..."
(Well, I thought there shouldn't be any problem before 12 in noon, but there seems to have a problem). One of my new friend seating next to me told me that he visited Dhaka just an hour ago before the class was about to start, but they were told not to use trains, as some news were spread of damaging the roadlines of few parts of the country.

Not as planned, but we both came out making excuses of "his" mother calling him to "be in home as soon as possible." He lives in Banani. From Road 8, I asked my driver to take an u-turn back to road 6, from where we can move to Greenroad, which is on the Eastern part of Kalabagan(where my home is), and Dhanmondi is on the West Side on it.

Though, he did not really agreed with me and started driving wrecklessly we had to think when we where in front of Helvisia, Road 9/10. There we saw huge traffic coming out fast and the police was setting their barricades on our side. Fortunately there is a road links from that certain place to Kalabagan. As few of other cars did, along we us, we drived into the opposite site of the road, taking a right turn to East and entered Kalabagan safely. On the other side, I really got few seconds to watch but I saw huge crowd moving in, holding sticks towards the police barricades, they also lit fire on heavy objects. I couldn't get a clear visual, but it may have been tyres, private cars(basically sedans), or bus, these are the objects that are regularly burned here.

Inside the narrow roads of the Kalabagan, I saw extra number of traffic, most of them rickshaws carrying people who may have come to visit homes of loved ones, and many empty taxis, which may have dropped their passengers to any nearly contant's place thinking about the emergency. When we came to road which ends to Panthapath, that is now the North side of the Kalabanan, and also links in Dhanmondi Road #32. It seemed to be empty. Only fewer people rushing in from Panthapoth by walk, and a few rickshaws. I entered my home all excited, not my language "freaked," though I have not really seen something that can make me shiver.

It all started just after the Prime Minsiter finished her speech calling for "peace" and call for the process lead by the national "constitution."

Today's Report

Todays scenes were much more dramatic as it looks in television screens. A television news agency has confirmed of six deaths today till now. but the figure has all possibities to go higher.

Yesterday night there three people were reported death. One in Bramanbaria, where the Awami League workers open fired at a rally lead by BNP. Another two women died in separate car accidents because of wreskless driving paniced by the on-going clashes. one woman was carrying a child who had injuries too.

One of my friend who lives around Paltan said, at 3AM suddenly huge crowd armed with sticks started to hit windows and vehicles parked on streets. they were all awami league workers. he also told me that two men were shot in heads.

in Purana Paltan there were huge crushs threw out the day. atleast four people are claimed death, and hundreds taken to hospitals. as it was declared earlier by BNP that its leader will address the party in Paltan Maidan at 3 PM, BNP workers did not really seemed to active, and they seemed like very relaxed. The Paitan Maidam (the open ground behind the Nation Stadium) was taken in place control later at midnight. BNP later decided to held the assembly in front of Purana Paltan's BNP office. the Prime Minister, also the leader of BNP later addressed her party at 5PM under high profile security, also surroundered by BNP lawmakers and workers. All lawmakers sat surrounding her, and later she declared that BNP has no intension of not handing over the power, it will rather respect all President's decisions. She also warmed that every attack will be replied as it was sent. At that moment both secratary generals were called to the President for an emergency meeting were they again places their proposals to the President again. The AL Secratary General has said to the press waiting outside that he would discuss everything with AL high officials and within today report to the President.

The Paltan Maidan is now is AL control. the major clashes took place during 2PM in front of a Baitul Mukamran Gate where Jammat-e-Islam (the major Islamic party in bd) were having there meeting. AL workers were comming with a rally face to face, while they both met face to face. The fighting lastest for a few hours. On NTV a footage was shown AL workers beating up a Jamaat worker with sticks. He was shown to be hit strongly on face, his upper clothes were torned off. Then after several big hits he felt down on the ground were an AL worker jumper over him from a long distance--- by naked eye you may say anyone's rids would be broken that time. Few workers tired to stop such as inhuman act. Later when he again stood up, few workers again started hitting with badly. He was confirmed death in the spot. Another unknown worker was beaten to beat in the same around.

The police charged in later, trying to clear things up. It stood between the fighting forces and held its possition. AL workers were trying to use some guerrilla tactics, sprending around the blocks of Purana Paltan. After a while someone threw three bombs repeatedly. When the police moved out, AL workers again charged-in, chasing Jammat workers. A few minutes after that Jammat started to back themselves up from the back, and now the chase was at AL workers. AL claimed to have huge injures of gunshots and bombs by the attack of Jammat and Police together, filling the Dhaka Medical Hospital.

In BSSMC(previous known as PG hospital), doctor bodies from both Awami League and BNP faught for the control of the hospital. The hospital's gates and windows at one end was smashed during the fighting.

Around alarming news sprend when two military vehicles run through an assembly place, it may have been there for Prime Minister's security, though many usual reports were heard till now. Like, few hours from now the President's office ordered all vehicles used by press parked in front Rajuk's building which is just adjacent to the Presidential Area. Yesterday SSF(Special Security Foces) took the responsibility of Sheik Hasina's security, the AL leader. At 3AM, without any information given, SSP moved out all of its officials, leaving AL leader's house, which was called "unsecuried" for seven hours and so on. According to some reports BDR(Border Security Rifles) took control of some points of the city. Many recalled as a process used early where first Police searches for ways to maintain peace. If failed, the BDR forces moves in. If it fails too, there can be no choose for the President but to choose the Army(with is also divided into BNP and AL) to call in.

Right now from my room, I can often hear sound of rallies marcing on main roads, while all the city blocks remains empty, only with a few dozens of people left to walk, and empty rickshaws.

Re: Election 2007-Latest News & Updates...

Latest Updates

# An english newspaper has confirmed 14 deaths and around 2000 people injured. These figures are still counting.

# It is now cleared that the President has asked both AL and BNP whether they agree, if the President himself took all responsibilites (which is constitution legal) for the next elections, as both party disagreed with each others' nominated candinates.

BNP has not confirmed any details, but at a press conference held of Sheik Hasina's residence, she furiously said, "...President abar caretaker government er cheif hoben keno..." though she also asked to judge someday who would come according to the constitution.

As many analyist talked in recent hours, it many be sound pretty solid that no former Cheif Justice would come forward by the existing political pressure from both sides if he/she wants to save selfrespect and maybe life.

Hi Khashyar and searcher

Thanks for your comments and questions.

About writing Globtrotter_Bot: hmm..I guess two main reasons:
1 I wanted to have a site which would keep an eye on the recent news development on a few topics that are interesting for me and my friends, and maybe one day for a few more Internet users, too.
2 I thought I could do it quite easily, so why not

About Google ads: hmm.. again two reasons:
1 Wanted to see how it works
2 A safety-valve in case traffic increases, and some money would be necessary to pay for it.

About business:
1 I didn’t really think about Globtrotter_Bot as a business, but rather as a playground, which hopefully might be useful for other people.

Russia:
Some Russian, Byelorussia and Ukrainian friends, a little bit of Russian, The Master and Margarita, an interesting neighboring country.

About Smilies:
Cant stop using them

People shouldnt confuse when we will have a general election to when we should have one.

We should have one today.

Is there not a legal process, some sort of vote of no confidence, that a member of the public can pursue in order to force a general election? Surely there must be - otherwise its a dictatorship.

Anyway, its a lovely day. Im not going to allow myself to be wound up by the state of this country. Im going for a jog, then mowing the lawn, then sitting in the garden to enjoy the sun and read a good book - maybe Littlejohns Britain by Richard Littlejohn.

to select a section or category to show up in the listing generated by the Latest News module, I have to type in the ID number of the section or category. I would like to suggest that this be replaced by a drop-down list of the sections and categories on the website. This would increase ease-of-use of Joomla.A minor change but a useful one, I believe.

Youll probably want to use a module suffix and change the display to inline in your template CSS. Technically, you could do this without a suffix, but I imagine youd want to retain the ability to do a normal vertical latest news display as well.A Google search will turn up module suffixes in Joomla and how they work, tutorials, etc.Good luck,- HC

Thats a big contract. Both good and bad for Frances military aviation industry - first export of Rafale, technology transfer though will limit the possibility of future purchase once they start building their own Rafales.
